The Breakfast Club is a non profit voluntary organisation which was started by six AUT business students in 1993. Since then, the club has evolved into a very unique platform for interaction between the students and the corporate world.

The Breakfast Club event usually starts off with the arrival of a guest speaker. Members and guests help themselves with a delicious buffet breakfast and are seated while the speaker talks about his/her experiences and provides useful insights into the business world. The members comprise of students, working professionals and lecturers. At the end of the speech, there is interaction between the members and speakers to help build your knowledge and your network in the business world.

It provides students with a great opportunity to get meet these highly distinguished speakers, get first hand information about the various aspects of business and their experiences, learn about their interests and apply them to the real world.

A few of our distinguished speakers in the past have been

  • Dr. Allan Bollard, Governor, Reserve Bank of New Zealand
  • John Key, Leader of the National Party
  • Mr. Murray Jack, CEO-Deloitte New Zealand
  • Phil Patel, Director of Marketing-Vodafone NZ.
