Top 3 misconceptions about Islam

Written by ... Monday, 11 August 2008
#1 Muslims are violent extremists/terrorists. This is the biggest misconception in Islam, no doubt resulting from the constant stereotyping and the western media gives Islam. Politics in so called "Muslim countries" may or may not have any Islamic basis. Often dictators and politicians will use the name of Islam for their own purposes. One should remember to go to the source of Islam and separate what the true religion of Islam says from what is portrayed in the media. Islam literally means 'submission to God' and is derived from a root word meaning 'peace'.

10 Ways to Keep Warm in Winter.

Written by with aaannarose Monday, 11 August 2008

1. Irish Coffee. 2 parts Irish whisky, 4 parts hot coffee, 1tsp brown sugar and a dollop of fresh cream on top. This is guaranteed to warm up any winter night and best enjoyed with company (or a camera).
2. Nature's hot water bottle. The Cat. Apply when and where necessary, the more the merrier. Be sure to win the feline of the household over with sneaky treats when the other flatties aren't looking. Or perhaps just smell like fish constantly.

The aim of bhakti-yoga is to bring about personal transformation in the bhakti yogi and to reconnect us with our spiritual source, Sri Krishna. The philosophy of the Vedic tradition is comprehensive and leaves none of the generally challenging questions unanswered - you will not get the response ‘God works in mysterious ways' if you ask why bad things happen to good people or how can God stand-by and watch all of the world's tragedies - it's a complete understanding with no philosophical gaps that cause a person of good intelligence to reject it as flawed. But let's get back to the love part because that's what the world desperately needs and that's what one of things many of us are seeking.
