Rachel Dawes: One of Batman's
childhood friends who becomes a District Attorney (originally played
by Katie Holmes). Rachel will only be with Batman after his
caped-crusader (or was that Spiderman?) days are over. Stay tuned to
see how that pans out....
Alfred Pennyworth: The butler who
raised Batman after his parents were killed.
Bruce Wayne: Batman's alias- a rich
philanthropist and playboy. After witnessing his parent's murder as
a child Bruce trains himself to fight crime in the (fictional) Gotham
City. Interestingly, Batman possesses no superpowers; he relies on
his physical and intellectual ‘perfection' to fight crime.
Batcave: Batman's home which doubles
as a hub for monitoring local and global events, and houses his
impressive collection of vehicles and surveillance equipment. Very
few people know where Batman's headquarters is.
Why is he dressed like a bat?
Apparently, to intimidate or scare criminals.
The Bat Signal: Batman gifted the Bat
signal to police so that they could contact him in a serious event.
Whenever needed, the Gotham City police place a bat shaped insignia
over a lens which consequently creates a bat signal against passing
clouds. It can be seen from any point in Gotham. In addition, Batman
has sophisticated technology which alerts him when the signal is
being lit.
