10 upcoming films I am excited about.

|
And so should you should be too.
1. Wall-E - Out on 18th
September, this animated film, about a lonely robot left to clean up
earth is HUGE. You'd basically have to be devoid of a soul
to hate this film. It is #26 on the IMDB top 250- that's better
than Citizen Kane. It has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It
has robots in love. What more could you want?

|
2. Pineapple Express - This
stoner action film makes its NZ debut 16th October, and
I'm fuckin' psyched. It's written by and stars Seth Rogen,
dude who wrote Superbad, and produced by Judd Apatow, the guy
behind Knocked Up & 40 Year Old Virgin. It also
stars James Franco, the angry but foxy friend from Spiderman.
Guys should not miss this buddy comedy. |

|
3. Burn After Reading - I
love George Clooney. Wholeheartedly. I will therefore not miss this
comedy, also starring the considerable talents of Brad Pitt, John
Malkovich and that woman from Fargo. This film is about
dim-witted Gym employee Chad (Pitt) who finds the memoir of ex-CIA
agent Osbourne (Malkovich) and uses it to blackmail him.

 |
|
4. The Curious Case Of Benjamin
Button - I was captivated by the trailer for this film. It
stars Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button, a man who is born in 1919 as an
80 year old man, and ages backwards. "WTF" you say? Well I have
faith that David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club) will make this
film dark and enchanting. |
 |
|
5. High School Musical 3 - I
am superduper looking forward to the big screen instalment to this
infectious Disney franchise. Fuck you, it's going to be awesome.
|
 |
|
6. Twilight - Teen Girls the
world over are waiting with baited (bated?) breath for this film to
arrive. It is the screen adaptation of the first book in the uber
popular Twilight series about an ordinary girl who falls in love
with a (wait for it!) Vampire.
|
 |
|
7. The Time Traveller's Wife -
This was one of my favourite books, about a man (Erica Bana) with a
genetic mutation that causes him to leap back and forth through
time, and his wife (Rachel McAdams) who he meets at various stages
in their lives.
|
 |
|
8. Zack And Miri Make a Porno -
It has the word "porno" in the title. It is about making porn.
It is written/directed by Kevin Smith. It stars Seth Rogen. It's
about porn.
|
 |
|
9. The Wackiness - I will
see this film and be pretentious and rave about it and everyone I
know will not know what I am talking about. But you will. It's set
in 1994 and is about hip hop and pot dealing in the New York Summer.
It stars Josh Peck, newly slim and almost foxy star of Drake and
Josh. |
 |
|
10. Watchmen - This
adaptation of the critically acclaimed graphic novel is going to
kick ass in the same way that Sin City did. I have yet to
read the source material but I know it is about superheroes and is
set in 1985. It is directed by Zack Snyder, of 300 fame.
