Yes, it is that time again. It may have
felt like the semester had only just begun, but the 2 week holiday
break is upon us once again. After the break we will be holding the
final AuSM SGM for 2008. This is scheduled for Wednesday 24
September, 12noon in WC202. At this meeting we will be confirming the
2009 AuSM budget and electing the vacant positions available on the
AuSM executive for 2009. There are currently 4 positions that are
vacant for 2009 being the AuSM International Affairs Officer, Te Ara
Poutama Faculty Rep, Postgraduate Affairs Officer, and Disability
Affairs Officer. Depending on the results of the AuSM elections at
the end of this week, there may be one or two more positions that

As per usual we will be giving the first 30 students through the door
a Vesbar drink voucher, all students who attend will get a free lunch
and there will be several spot prizes to give away.
You may have seen an ad in debate or
flyers being given out around campus asking you to hop online and
fill out the annual AuSM Online Survey. So far we have had a
reasonable response and while the feedback we have been getting is
good, we definitely need more of it. This survey will help shape AuSM
in regards to the services we will provide to you in 2009. Everything
from the events you see on campus, to what you read in debate, to
clubs, sports and many other great services we provide. Please take
10 minutes of your time to complete the survey. Don't forget there
are a number of great spot prizes up for grabs including a weekend
away at the AuSM Ski Lodge for you and up to 19 mates! Do it now,

Lastly, to end the semester in style,
Vesbar is having their Mid Semester blow out party this Thursday
September 4. From 6pm on you will be able to get Vesbar's special 5
drinks for 10 bucks deal. Yes it does sound too good to be true. You
definitely can't get drinks anywhere else in town for that price.
That is of course why we can only afford to do it a couple of times
