Casuals...

Singledom- rocks or what aye? Nobody to be responsible for, no one to answer to, just plain ol' fun times right? Well that's the aim at least- but what happens when you delve into a bit of hanky panky, a bit of casual on the side of the awesomeness that is being single and things go wary? More often than not there's a casual on the scene (or at least lurking in the shadows and you may not even be aware of it yet, so peel those eyes poppet's!), or even better, a fuck buddy who knows the story, whose down with the play and just wants the same thing- a bit of sexy time. Everybody needs sexy time. Even the gross old man or terrifying cougar needs a bit of lovin' here and there, but where and when do you draw the dreaded line? You know- that invisible line of "hey buddy, I'm just down with the rompy pompy, nothing more and nothing less, so don't get any crazy thoughts in your head". Does it even need to be said in the first place? Do you jump into the sack and prey to lord begeebers that your partner in crime doesn't get that glassy look over their eyes where they are crossing over the casual line into relationship territory?

SoJo's Mojo

Embarrassingly dubbed Hater turned Pro; Facebook has forever changed my life. I never got into the whole MySpace/Bebo shit, mainly because my simple reasoning was "if you spent half the bloody time you do on Myspace/Bebo with your ACTUAL friends, your life would be so enriched"... blah blah blah. It wasn't until not one, not two, but a whole mixed bag of friends was having sweet parties and fun times without me, purely because I wasn't on Facebook and therefore hadn't got an invite. What's wrong with a good old fashion phone call? Or even a friggin' text to keep me in the loop for god's sake, I squealed. No one had sympathy for me. I just wasn't considered unless I was a part of the whole fucking Facebook phenomenon. Having held out for as long as I could, I caved in and threw caution into the cyber wind. Fark. Little did I know...

How to take the Food Show for all its worth... bwahaha suckers!!

We all sing the same "I'm a poor student" song and we all know that an extra helping hand in the food and wine department is always a winner. Showground festivals and annual fairs are great because the traders are almost pissing themselves with competition and if you know how to work them, you're more than likely to score some fanfuckingtastic deals that Pak ‘n Scab would never dream of giving you. So follow these simple steps and have fun!

There's something in the water....

Over the much deserved holiday I noticed a trend of the romantically inclined that seemed more than coincidence, and somewhat extreme...

It seemed that almost all of my close friends were/are either a) getting engaged, b) getting pregnant or c) getting dumped. And apparently this has stretched quite far; having asked friends of friends, acquaintances and even complete randoms (sorry randoms, I told you I wasn't crazy, this is the column of proof). In all fairness, the break ups are well exceeding the future unions and up-the-duffers, to the point where the causal drinks with all of your couple friends have turned into binge drinking sessions ending in plans of total world domination, hot sex with the forbidden flatmate and running to the south island with your new lesbian lover (all true instances). Take a minute out of your day and count how many of your friend have recently experienced a, b or c?

University

I never imagined I’d end up at uni. Seriously. I was a hater. I could not understand why someone would spend a good three years being broke-ass poor, yet still fluff around drinking most of the time then somehow come out unscathed (of sorts) with a degree. Not even mentioning the full on debt that would be acquired along the way! Seriously, why the hell would you do it?
OK, so in all fairness I did have a 5 year plan after high school. Apply for a Performing Arts degree, get in, rock the nation, then the world. Simple. Apparently I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have enough “life skills.” Ha! Well they lost out.
