It has been a great season of cricket both on and off the pitch. Perhaps the most exciting one in memory. There were the generally pretty entertaining one-day matches against England, the joy of seeing Australia lose to Sri Lanka, the controversy between Australia and India that showed just how arrogant professional athletes can be, the stupidity of the talented Jesse Ryder, the huge payday for the players recruited to play in the Indian league, and now it has gotten even better.
There have been some great streaker moments in sports, and I personally
think it’s great as long as it doesn’t interfere with the game
(unfortunately this is near impossible). Until a few days ago, Greg
Chappell had the greatest moment in cricket streaker history when he
grabbed and spanked Bruce McCauley as he run naked around the pitch in
1977. But he has been usurped by another Aussie, Andrew Symonds, who
shoulder charged a streaker at the Gabba against India last week. It
was awesome.
