LOL @ IT!
I don’t know where you can obtain it *cough… download?* but you MUST watch Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law. It finished in 2007; I know I’m probably behind the times, but shitgoddamn this is hilarious. The comedy cartoon is the re-incarnation of Hanna-Barbera’s 1960s-ish Birdman and the Galaxy Trio. Birdman (Harvey) retires from the superhero profession and has a crack at being a lawyer working for the Sebben & Sebben law firm, along with Birdboy (Peanut) and Avenger. Falcon 7 from the original cartoon is now Phil Ken Sebben, Harvey’s side-splitting employer with an eye-patch. Cameo appearances include Scooby-Doo and that crew, Yogi Bear & Boo Boo, The Flintstones and Secret Squirrel, to name a mere few. I’m going to name my first-born Phil Ken Sebben and name a budgie Avenger, it’s that good. (It should also be pointed out that Stephen Colbert voices Phil, which automatically makes it awesome – Ed.)

Go See It!
Burn After Reading
The Coen Brothers are awesome. There is no doubt that these two guys have made some seriously sweet movies over the years, and while early reports are somewhat average by their standards, remember that The Big Lebowski was never appreciated upon release. I would watch a film with Paris Hilton in it if it was written and directed by these two, that's how much I respect them.

This new film has Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand as two not too bright gym employees who stumble across a bitter CIA agent's (John Malkovich) secret memoir and try to blackmail him with it. Somewhere George Clooney and Tilda Swinton come into play too. Great cast, great screenwriters, great directors. How could it go wrong?

CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
Presidential Campaigns
Have you seen those flash buses and jets that Obama and McCain ride around in? And the sets at the party conventions that look like something from the MTV VMAs? Political commentators have said that this presidential election will cost about $1billion. Yes. BILLION. Just to have a 50% chance at winning. The candidates raise millions online every week, and supporters throw parties in their honour to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars. Who said anyone can be president? Anyone know how much National/Labour's campaigns have costed?

REMEMBER IT!
Great Speeches
"I have a dream." "Tear down this wall." "
Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." "...a date which will live in infamy." Political speeches are usually a yawn, but occasionally you get a gem. There are a few timeless addresses that have charged generations and redefined politics with every word. These are the speeches that inspire millions to seek change that before had seemed impossible. These are the speeches that change the world.

  CAN'T WAIT FOR IT!
Summer
By now you should be finishing the last of your assignments and getting ready or exams. That means it's only a matter of weeks before we are free of uni and can enjoy summer! The weather is starting to get better, Gisbourne campgrounds are selling out, the first Big Day Out announcement has been made... ahh summer is just around the corner. And I can't wait.

See It!
Wall-E
It's by Pixar. How much more motivation do you need?

Watch It!
The Sarah Silverman Project/It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
The two most socially irresponsible shows on TV screen Mondays on C4 and are both pretty darn funny. So far this season Sarah has dressed in black face, made fun of anti-abortionists ("At least I'm not a bore, son"), and licked her dog's ass. After Sarah is the even better show, called Sunny for short (by me). This Philly crew are the most selfish, unlikeable, and conniving troupe on TV. They are also hilarious. Two shows to make your Monday more meaningful.

While we're on Sarah Silverman, in case you haven't seen it yet, go to YouTube and watch her ‘Fucking Matt Damon' video which recently won an Emmy. Then see Jimmy Kimmel's even better response.
