Youth Enrolment A campaign targeting 18 to 24 year old voters is being launched following a survey showing 40 per cent of eligible voters who are not enrolled are in that age group.
The internet-based Electoral Enrolment Centre campaign for young people will begin in August. Murray Wicks, the national manager of the Electoral Enrolment Centre, says it is important to get young people interested in the election so they can exercise their democratic rights.

Smoking, not our future? AUT may in the future become a smoke free campus with a growing number in the student community wanting to rid the institution of cancer sticks altogether.
President of AUT student association (AuSM), Jan Herman, says students are becoming increasingly aware of the harmful aspects of smoking and want AUT to butt out smokers from campus grounds.

SoSE vs AuSM The Society of Student Engineers (SoSE) wants to take away the power AuSM has to veto changes to club rules.
SoSE wants members of any affiliated clubs to have a say if AuSM wants to change a club’s constitution.
AuSM currently has veto rights over a club’s constitution, which means the AuSM executive council decides whether a club can change its own rules.
