Democrats Still Pulling Their Hair Out #3 Much to the disdain of party officials, the race to become the 2008 Democratic nominee for president has still yet to finish – five months after the first primary was held. Fortunately for the rest of us, the race is still as entertaining as ever, with gaffes, controversies and lurid anecdotes filling our television screens. Candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have both enjoyed wins in the primaries since Part 2 of this series, but both have also been dogged by scandals that could only surface in the crazy world of American politics.

Saving the planet just got cheaper on the pocket
You may or may not buy in to the global warming bandwagon, heck; the scientific community could be getting their knickers in a twist over nothing. But let’s face it, the evidence so far hasn’t been too cheerful; whether global warming is the product of mankind’s ability to shit all over what we’ve been blessed with, or simply the next phase in our planet’s cycle.

Clean Green image not seen at AUT New Zealand’s clean green image is nowhere to be seen around AUT’s student accommodation with Wellesley Student Apartments (WSA) lacking in recycling despite the current system in place on the City and North Shore Campuses.
Wellesley Student Apartments manager Rachael Hutchison says the reason there is no recycling system is because the students did not cooperate with the previous system which led to AUT’s Campus Services taking it away.

Watching for a better future A series of thought-provoking films will be shown as part of the Human Rights Film Festival, which is coming to New Zealand in May. Cinematic stories of struggle and triumph will be displayed at Rialto Cinema in Newmarket from 15-23 May. As well as Auckland, the fourth annual festival will be held in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

AUT sport stars Blue themselves
12 students from AUT will be awarded with 2008 NZU Blue Awards in June, two more than any other university in the country. 108 nominations were received from around the country and 50 Blues have been awarded with one more award for Distinguished Performance that recognises accomplishments in a non-recognised sport that went to AUT student Phillis Meti for golf. (But debating is still recognised. What’s up with that?)
